Kamachumu Inn offers first class comfort and service 365 days a year. We offer a variety of rooms at affordable rates. We keep you connected to the outside world with TV sets in every room— programming is delivered via satellite cable - you can also relax in front of the large-screen TV in our lounge.

Our tastefully furnished rooms are clean and comfortable. Each room has cable TV and a phone as well as a writing desk. A number of the rooms are self-contained with their own bathroom and toilet with hot and cold running water. Mats (“mikeka”) and other furnishings are locally made, which gives the rooms a traditional elegance that cannot be easily recreated.

Restaurant
Kamachumu Inn’s famous restaurant serves local dishes as well as international cuisine. We recommend the “matoke” (cooked bananas) and grilled tilapia from Lake Victoria. The food we serve is organically grown – all of the fruit and vegetables are from local farmers that use traditional farming methods to cultivate the land.

Kamachumu Inn has its own vegetable garden to supplement the produce from the local farmers. We also have a bakery on site where we bake bread and other pastries for our guests and supply bread to the community. Meat dishes are prepared from livestock that is raised naturally (grazing on grass) - you will notice the difference in taste and texture of the meat. We also have our own cows where we get milk and dairy products.

On sunny days, guests can enjoy a meal outdoors underneath our thatched umbrellas—all the while being served by our friendly staff. read more
